On Hold

The cabin project is on hold.

Building A Cabin

I got a book of cabins for Christmas this year. I've always liked cabins - who doesn't?

It has reignited my cabin interest. For the last week I've been on the warpath hunting land for cabins. After hours of digging through maps on windermere, I found a few pieces of land that captured my imagination. My wife and I went out on a roadtrip / cabin expedition last weekend. We went to Mt Index, Lake Chelan, and the Methow Valley.

Mt Index was beautiful but the cabins were closely packed. The ones we looked at were also starting to fall apart from years of rain and snow. It's a nice area and we're going to keep our eye out for new cabins coming on the market.

Lake Chelan felt like a retirement/resort community. It didn't have that out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere feeling that you want with a cabin.

The Methow Valley (MET ow) was also incredibly pretty, but is a 4 hour drive from Seattle. But I keep finding pieces of land in our price range that look sooo nice. I have cabin fever!

This blog will be a chronicle of the great cabin hunt.
